Banana Lounge Broadcasting – 20 April 2010 your hosts by Dave Graney and Elizabeth McCarthy special guest Clare Moore !
[written by Elizabeth]
Wow. Three playlists behind. Been so busy with the plaster thing and a new job. Dave's really irritated that I haven't been putting these playlists up; he has this look on his face that's all "You've been sittin' 'round in plaster for weeks, you got nothin' better to do than tend to BLB shit". I feel ashamed, in a vaguely half-arsed sorta way.

Banana Lounge Broadcasting – 25 May 2010 your hosts by Dave Graney and Elizabeth McCarthy special guest Mark Fitzgibbon !
[written by Elizabeth]
Jazz man extraordinaire Mark Fitzgibbon was le spesh guest and Dave and he talked cats. That's jazz cats, folks.
Later that evening I went to the opening of the St Kilda Film Festival at the Palais. It's on until the 30th. Everyone in the crowd was draped in black with great slashes of colour across lips and hips. I didn't go to the after-party. I didn't want to walk for fifteen minutes in the cold. Instead I went to Dogs Bar and threw back lemon squashes and talked books. I've only recently discovered Lorrie Moore. Apparently everyone has been up to speed on her but me.

Banana Lounge Broadcasting – 18 May 2010 your hosts by Dave Graney and Elizabeth McCarthy special guest Tex Perkins !
[written by Elizabeth]
The man in navy blue was great! Boomboxin', slappin' the desk, firing orders, providing his own sound effects. No complaints! When I asked him which of his vast array of music projects he was most proud of, he cited the following infomercial: (Note the distinction!! - he said "I'm most proud of the Ladyboyz infomercial", rather than, "I'm most proud of the Ladyboyz")

Took Dave to an inner-city bakery after the show, staffed by hipsters who traded ironic banter like "Your hair would look great if you went greaser." Decked out in triple denim, Dave slumped himself forlornly in a corner booth and meekly requested "One weak coffee, please". The waiting staff had clearly expelled the word "coffee" from their lexicon in 1986. "They only talk in flat white short black latte jive here pal," I said. "This ain't Golden Towers." He scowled as I ate my trendy sandwich. "This joint sucks," was his three-word, no star review.
