On today's show we began be speaking briefly about Matt's trip to New York, and the dining experience at The Four Seasons Grill Room - home of the power lunch!
We then had a lengthy market report with John, as the season slowly switches into Spring and Summer mode.
We also replayed an old spoken word piece called "Pot Roast" recorded many years ago by RRR's Max Crawdaddy. The things you find when moving house!
FInally we were joined by Justin Wise from The Point restaurant in Albert Park. Justin had a rather chaotic service last night, as the little printer that pumps out the kitchen orders died; just what you need when you also have two orders for whole suckling pig! We spoke about how kitchen teams get through difficult services, the upcoming silly season, and some of the ingredients Justin is preferring at the moment: asparagus, mangoes, Otway shitake mushrooms, and even buddha's hand citrus fruits. We also mentioned Fresh Generation at the Vic Market, a great place to check out some of the more interesting foody ingredients.

LA Larkin is an Australian thriller writer, and has set her latest epic adventure Thirst in Antarctica. It's a romp of a story that deftly blends the themes of climate change, geoscience, world domination, espionage and murder. And there's even a bit of romance chucked in for good measure. We'll be crossing live to Sydney to speak with LA Larkin about this fantastic read, and about her own experiences in Antarctica researching the material to write the book.
Simon Branigan, Marine and Coastal Campaign Co-ordinator from the Victorian National Parks Association joins us to talk about the VNPA's latest campaigns, including Saving Bastion Point, and the VNPA's 60th birthday celebrations.
And John returns from thesis write up land, and brings in fishy news, Marine Stewardship Council assessements, the listing of blue warehou as a threatened species, and Tassie salmon farm expansions.
