On today's show we started with a quick chat to Victorian food icon Alla Wolf-Tasker about the upcomingDaylesford / Macedon Harvest Week Celebration which kicks off on the ANZAC weekend and runs for ten days.

Next up the wonderful Phillippa Grogan joined us in-studio to talk about her excellent new book Phillippa's Home Baking. Baking at home seems quaintly old-fashioned these days, but if you're even in the slightest bit interesting in the art then it's worth having a look through the book. We also talked about family traditions, food as evocation, crumpets, and what on earth you can do with stale bread.

Also making the long trek from the Mornington Peninsula into the studio, former-dancer-current-foody Paul Mercurio joined us to talk about beer. Sure, you can drink it (millions do you know) but it's also a really great ingredient to cook with. We spoke about his book Cooking With Beer, why to avoid commercial brews in favour of good quality craft beer, and more generally his evolution from a successful dancer into a passionate food dude.
