Dr Brigid Lynch, Senior Research Fellow at the Cancer Epidemiology Centre provides some information about the ASMR and the advocacy that they do, and talks about the upcoming Research Week.
Dr Phoebe Phillips via telephone is the Head of the Pancreatic Cancer Translational Research Group, Lowy Cancer Research Centre, University of NSW. Her PhD significantly contributed to the mechanism of pancreatic injury and fibrosis. Her current research has the goal of developing therapeutic strategies targeting cell types that contribute to chemo-resistance in pancreatic cancer.
Mehrdad Nikfarjam, Senior lecturer at University of Melbourne Department of Surgery is an advanced and minimally invasive liver, pancreatic and biliary surgeon at Austin health in Melbourne. His clinical research interest focuses on techniques aimed at improving the management of patients with pancreatic cancer. He is the founder of Pancare Foundation, aimed at awareness, research, education and support (patient and family) relating to pancreatic, liver, biliary and foregut cancers.
Dannel Yeo is a PhD candidate at Department of Surgery (Austin), University of Melbourne and a research scientist. His research is looking into a protein called p21-activated kinase 1 (PAK1) and studying its role, and examining its therapeutic potential in pancreatic cancer.
